Autumn had the most perfect first time experience a wee pup could have on Friday! She was greeted by Bridget one of her traveling companions from Missouri. She then proceed to surprise me by being the perfect puppy. She was putty in Jane’s more than capable hands & the end result was a cute little fuzzball who looked amazing! I have never been to Tender Touches before & it was a breathtaking process to observe! I have already booked Maddy & Trixie for next month. Thank you so much for making Autumn’s first ever grooming so positive!

I really want to thank you both for the great care and love that you gave Kelly and Nikki. I’m sure they wouldn’t have been around as long as they were if we couldn’t have got them groomed and I’m quite sure that there isn’t anyone else who could have handled them like you guys did. It takes very very special people to do what you do with such patience and love. Please keep doing what you’re doing for as many people and their pets as you can for as long as you can because what you do can’t be duplicated. Take Care.

Before we started getting grooming at Tender Touch, our first experience with a groomer was awful. I was very surprised to learn that I was not allowed to stay while Fergus was being groomed. So feeling uneasy, I left him there and went home to wait for a phone call to come back and get him. Four and a half hours later I finally called to see if he was done yet and they said it would be about another hour as he wasn’t dry yet. Since it was a very hot summer day I said i was okay with that and I would like to come and get him now but they said they still had to comb him out and they couldn’t do it while he was wet so I would have to wait and they hung up. When I went to get Fergus nobody was in the front of the shop, and I hear him barking a bark that I had never heard before. I looked behind the counter where the barking was coming from and he was in a little cage under the counter. I was appalled! Fergus clung to my neck with his paws and his claws dug into my shoulders and he was trembling so hard that I felt sick to my stomach for leaving him there. He wouldn’t go on leash to walk to the car, nor leave by side the rest of the day. He wouldn’t play with his favorite toys or eat cookies. He just curled up and trembled.

The next time I had to get Fergus groomed I decided to call a mobile service that came to our home to groom him. I thought that would be better to have them groom him here in my house. Yes, I was that naive. Well she took him out to her van and I hovered around outside and looked in the windows and Fergus appeared to be okay. She opened the door a couple of times and let me see that he was doing okay and he seemed to be fine. When he came in the house he was happy and wasn’t trembling like he had been the last time. So I thought this was the answer. I called her again when Fergus needed to be groomed again. Only this time was different. She brought a trainee with her and I was blocked from watchig through the windows. I got a glimpse at the side door and Fergus was very agitated. I felt sick and deep own I knew something was off. When I banged on the door and said I wanted my dog back right now, she wouldn’t open the door and yelled that they’d be a few more minutes and he’d be done. After a very long 20 minutes, I got Fergus back. He was trembling and struggling to escape from the groomer. His coat had been razor cut way too short in spots which the groomer said was my fault for disturbing her.

I heard about Lucy and Jane’s kind, gentle, and fully transparent approach from the organizer of Fergus’s playgroup, Renee, who told Jane about my experiences and I was lucky enough to get an appointment at Tender Touch. We’ve been going there since 2008.Fergus gets excited when he goes into the shop and it’s only when he goes on the table that he trembles a little every now and then. Jane is so gentle with him that she is able to talk him out of his trembles fairly quickly now. Fergus trusts Jane and he trusts how she handles him. Dogs know who has a good safe and strong aura around them and Fergus knows that Jane is one of those people, so he can be relaxed when he is at Tender Touch. He doesn’t have to be on guard or be alert. He can relax and let Jane be in control. Thanks to Jane, Fergus has learned to let go and relax during a grooming session.

We have been fortunate to be customers of Jane and Lucy for well over a decade. We began with Jane’s Mobile Dog Grooming and when Tender Touch opened in Ile Des Chenes we were more than willing to go to the shop. It’s a comfortable and friendly environment for us and our three dogs, Sebastian, Zackary and Emma. Our grooming appointments are actually visits that we all enjoy. We know that Jane and Lucy care for our canine family’s appearance, health and happiness just as much as we do.

We are so grateful to have found Jane and Lucy from Tender Touch for our Rocky. We did not have very good experiences with groomers in the pase. Given Rocky’s aversion and fear when it came to grooming, we suspect that he may have been mistreated during groomings in the past. Jane has worked with Rocky patience and kindness and has come to adore Jane and Lucy and on his most recent grooming he was full of trust instead of fear! Thank you with all our hearts!

My husband and I have two adorable Yorkshire Terriers named Rocky and River. They are our children. I was greatly disturbed by our grooming experience with a more typical groomer (groomers out front, cages in back) and was disappointed in their haircut as well. I did not like leaving my dog for so long at the groomers, especially caged up, and requested they phone me as soon as he was done, but they did not. The organizer of our dog’s playgroup, Renee Morin, referred us to Tender Touch and we managed to get into their rotation. Tender Touch is so popular that most clients book their appointments a year in advance! I thought this sounded like the type of hairstylist celebrities go to and were very excited to go. We had a wonderful experience with Jane; no restraints, no cages, in and out, everything up front, and we could stay and watch the grooming take place. The haircuts are great too. When Jane found out we were nervous about finding a comparable groomer when we moved to Sweden, she decided to teach me how to groom the dogs myself! I am now confident in my skills and I know I could never have found another groomer as wonderful as Jane —they just don’t exist. We thank Jane for all the wonderful groomings and lessons and send her our most heartfelt thanks.

We are so fortunate to have had Lucy & Jane’s Tender Touch Salon recommended to us. Robbie, our West Highland White Terrier, is a regular client of Jane’s and we recognize her genuine love for, and the gentle way she has with animals in general. We appreciate that clients have a set time appointment and are encouraged to sit and visit or simply enjoy reading a magazine, while observing the entire grooming session. I believe Robbie is much more at ease because we are there with him where he can see us at all times. We have no hesitation in recommending Tender Touch to others. Thank you Jane & Lucy for offering such a wonderful service!

We were referred to Jane and Lucy when we discovered our dogs were being terrorized by our former groomer. Although seriously traumatized, it wasn’t long before Razz and Roxie’s tails were wagging when they knew they were going to be visiting Lucy and Jane. Ladies, you are AMAZING!!!! Thank you so much for what you are doing for us and for so many other dogs not quite as lucky.

Our dogs, Mollie and Dobbs, love going to Tender Touch to be groomed. Both Jane and Lucy handle them with gentle care and had a quick grasp of the dogs’ different ‘personalities’. They have a manner of controlling dogs without restraint, leash, or force. I really appreciate the genuine concern they have for the best welfare of the dogs, other animals, and people too! It is clear they love what they are doing and their enthusiasm is contagious. Turns out my dog Mollie does not need a full grooming in winter months as she does not have thick fur and it does not grow very fast. To my great appreciation, Jane loaned me a special tool and taught me how to use it to groom Mollie in the winter. Tender Touch is run like a “tight ship”—their time is valuable and they have great respect for their client’s time. As such, they are alway punctual and efficient. If we did not have Tender Touch to go to for our groomings, we don’t know what we would do becasue we just would not want to go anywhere else!

When I first needed to bring my puppy, Andie, for a haircut, I tried a grooming shop that was near where I lived. Andie was very nervous about the entire process and it worried me to leave her at the groomers all day. when I later heard that with Jane and Lucy, I could make an appointment and that Andie wouldn’t have to spend they day, I decided to give them a try. I was so impressed! Jane and Lucy were so understanding, patient, and kind! Needless to say, Andie has been going to see them for her grooming ever since. I later adopted another dog, Maggie. She has never been to any other groomer and doesn’t know how fortunate she is. I know when I drop off my “girls” that they are in excellent hands, with people that will care for them as much as I do.
